Have you ever built something for a customer that you thought it would be a perfect solution and your customer rejected it?
This workshop is for you!

Human-Centered Design (HCD) is a creative approach to problem solving that aims to get people thinking outside the box. It’s a process that starts with the people you are designing for and ends with new solutions that are tailor-made to suit their needs.

HCD has been used for decades to create better products, services, experiments and businesses that keep people’s needs at the core.

This introduction is meant to give you a common language and real-world experience so you can solve problems more creatively and with greater shared understanding.

This workshop will model your behavior and mindset to more creative and thoughtful solutions that are Human-Centered.


Workshop Content

* What is Human-Centered Design?
* Process for HCD:

- Inspiration:
Framing the design challenge, Research, Creating a plan and Field Research.

- Ideation:
Synthesis, Brainstorming, Prototyping, Field-testing and Prototype share out.

- Implementation.


Duration of the workshop:

This workshop is expected to take from 4 to 5 hours. The workshop will start at 5 PM and end between 9 and 10 PM.

The facilitator:

Ahmed M. Rizk,

He is currently partner and education manager at Startup School. He is responsible for analysis, curriculum design and development along with delivery and feedback. He’s been working with Injaz for 2 years now. At Injaz, he’s mainly a part-time trainer, but he’s also been a judge in Startup Competition and a mentor for the Company Program teams.

Rizk has founded SEED (Social Entrepreneurship Empowering Development), a project empowering Social Entrepreneurs to gain sustainability in 2012 and has been the Business Development Manager then the CEO for the Swiss Training Institute in Egypt.
In General, Ahmed is an entrepreneur, a knowledge-seeker and an educator both by nature and study.

Expected number of participants and requirements:

20-25 Participants are expected to attend the workshop for maximum benefit. We will not be able to accept any further participants because of workshop design and space limitation.

People with diverse perspectives and different sets of skills are welcome to apply. Basically, anyone dealing with human problems on daily basis with interest in solving them in a new, systematic and creative way including startup teams, NGO workers, product/service designers, etc.


Deadline for applying:

The last chance for accepting attendees will be on Thursday, 20th of April. Applications made after that date will be automatically postponed for the next workshop.
