In this course you will be introduced to the basics of Patchwork& Quilting, you will learn how to cut fabric into squares , stripes and triangles and piece them together to form a patchwork "block" , you will learn how to add the batting-"fiber" and the back together to your patchwork block to make a Quilt....At the end of this course you will be able to make a small Quilt using different blocks of patchwork.
- Brief introduction about patchwork and Quilting.
- Introducing different tools and notions that is used in patchwork and Quilting.
- Practice a straight line stitching on practice sheets.
- Cutting the fabrics and sewing them together
- Quilting step .add the wadding "thin fiber ".
- Finished square patchwork quilt.
Sharp fabric scissors.
Hand sewing needles.
Fabrics : for first class bring fabrics you may already have at home especially 'cotton". and in the first class we will decide the amount of fabrics needed to bring to the next class.
Rotary cutter ,patchwork ruler and the mat will be available during class .
For Adults - Beginners
Sumaya is a co-owner of a small business called "Bobbins" for handmade home accessories.
She first started sewing in 2007 and she has been to the Italian sewing school in Cairo.
In 2011, she has learned Patchwork and quilting by the Artist and television instructor Fadia Coeur, since then she fell in love with this Art and she has made lots of patchwork projects. She is passionate about choosing fabrics and colors and mixing and matching them together. Sumaya enjoys passing what she has learned to others and introducing them to this magnificent art.
