Nestling in the heart of Zamalek, Cairo Kitchen is Egypt’s first contemporary ‘take’ on the traditional koshary restaurant. Inspired by the worldwide trend for street food dining, we’re paying tribute to the classics of Egyptian cuisine, serving up authentically prepared, ‘home-cooked’ meals in a hip, modern setting.

At Cairo Kitchen we’re approaching Egyptian street food from the angle of koshary offering our own interpretation of how this dish can be served up and enjoyed. With bold interiors created by Egyptian architect and designer, Hassan Abouseda, the restaurant is a modern twist on Egypt’s traditional koshary culture.

Love the name, the branding, the food and the staff. The people at Cairo Kitchen are really friendly and helpful and the food is delicious. I went for the traditional koshary and was happy with my choice. Their salad bar also offers a variety of good local salads, I had the yoghurt salad and tehina to share with my friend.

Had it not been for the stomach ache next day I would have given it a 5 for the rating.

Basically it's delicious food for the price of an upset stomach. I say it's worth it once in a while!
